FAQs

Is this a Non-Profit

No. I’m in for 10 isn’t a nonprofit or a formal organization. It’s simply a community of people choosing to come together for a targeted act of generosity. Individually, $10 may not change much—but when thousands of people give at once, it can create a life-changing moment for someone who truly needs it.

Where does the money go?

Contributions go directly to the individual or family being supported. The goal is to create a simple, transparent moment of community generosity where many small gifts combine to make a meaningful difference.

How does it work?

Each time we gather, we identify one person or family facing a significant challenge. Everyone who says “I’m in for 10” contributes $10 at the same time. What would be a small gift on its own becomes a powerful collective impact when hundreds or thousands of people participate togethe

How do you choose who receives the support?

Right now, we are identifying individuals and families within the disability and diagnosis community who are already doing their best to find help through crowdfunding, grants, and other resources. When someone comes to our attention, we take time to review the situation and do our due diligence before announcing them as the recipient. In the future, we may allow third-party nominations or applications. Our goal is for this to be a surprise blessing for the person or family. We love the idea that they didn’t know it was coming—that a community simply chose to step in and change their life.

This process will likely evolve as the community grows, but the heart behind it will stay the same: finding people who truly need that extra push and surrounding them with unexpected generosity.

How do we know the need is legitimate?

Before anyone is selected, their situation is carefully reviewed. We take time to confirm the circumstances, verify the need, and ensure the support is going to someone facing a genuine challenge. Due diligence is always done before a candidate is announced.

Trust and integrity are extremely important to this community, and we are committed to protecting both.

Do I have to participate every time?

No. Participation is always voluntary. However, the power of this movement only works when many people step forward together. The commitment is intentionally simple—just $10—because when thousands of people give at the same time, it can create a truly life-changing moment.

The goal isn’t for each person to decide whether someone is “worthy” of the $10 (although you’re always free to look into the situation if you’d like). The heart of this is coming together collectively to support a family in a deeply meaningful way—something that only happens when we all band together.

What kinds of situations will be supported?

Our focus is on individuals and families navigating disability or serious medical diagnoses. Life in these situations often comes with expenses and challenges that insurance simply doesn’t cover.

On average, raising a child with a disability or complex medical condition can cost many times more than raising a typical child. It’s not an even playing field—but together, we can help change that.

Our vision is to gather 10,000 people giving $10, which could create $100,000 of support at once. Some months that may go to one individual with a large need, while other months it could be shared among several families. As situations arise, we’ll determine the most meaningful way to help.

One person. One moment. One life changed at a time.
